We got the test results back from Libby's MRD, minimal residual disease, and
SHE IS CANCER FREE!!!!!!!!
as far as the machine is capable of detecting cancer cells in the blood. Little Libby is what they call a "rapid responder." Or, put another way, a little Libby-sized miracle! Thank you for your prayers and thank you, Jesus!
Her neutrophils (infection fighters) are still at zero, she's losing weight, and only drinking "mommy milk," so we're not getting out of the hospital yet. But, we have a big God that does miracles and hears our prayers, so keeping praying for those neutrophils to sky rocket and her appetite to return!
After we leave the hospital she still has a long road of chemo ahead of her, (2 1/2 years), as they continue to treat her in order to prevent the disease from returning. And because there just isn't enough research yet on how much chemo is enough to keep the cancer cells gone. (We've signed Libby on to be a part of a study to help that research). But, we can return to the business of unpacking boxes and canceling our utilities in Seattle! Ahhhh! I still haven't called Seattle City Lights!
I had no idea what a difference people's encouraging words make in times of hardship. We can't tell you enough how much it means to us to be walking through this with you, despite whatever distance. Thank you so much! God is good!

Libby has had a rough couple of days. Her neutrophil count is still low, so the chemo is taking it's toll. She lost her appetite and we couldn't figure out why until it reached her mouth and the sores appeared. She has mucositis, which sounds like lots of phlegm, but really means ulcers of the tissue lining her GI track. Very painful and uncomfortable, so the little peanut has gone on oxycodine for it. They don't mess around with pain meds in the hospital! And once her pain meds kicked in she was back to cruising the hospital halls in her mini coup.
Keep praying her neutrophil count goes up so the sores go away, she feels better, and we can get discharged from the hospital!

Thanks for your continued prayers!
